Introducing the latest craze in Green Fingers: The ECO Jar!

Whether in the office or at the comfort of your own home, you can now own a small piece of the tropical jungle, right in a jar! The enclosed jar creates a self-sufficient system where the plants can thrive and grow.

Complex layers of pebbles, charcoal and soil are created to form a jungle-like environment for the plants to thrive. And watering is to a minimum! Only water when the top layer moss are dried up(between 2-3weeks).

Placed the ECO Jar in a bright, indoor environment. Moisten the top layer moss when dried up. It’s as simple as that! When excessive condensation occurs, open the lid to let it evaporate for a short while. For air-conditioned environment (like offices), it is recommended to close the lid as the atmosphere is much drier. This is to create the suitable humidity in the jar. Have fun!

La Orquídea

happyPlant is proud to introduce this range of exotic mini orchids to fellow planters! Orchids, which is our National flower of Singapore, have evolved to many hybrids of different shapes and colours. Many feared them, due to their difficulty in caring and maintaining.

These misunderstood plants are actually a joy to grow, especially when their beautiful flowers bloom after constant care from the owner.

Keep La Orquídea in a bright shaded area and water every other day, or when the glass jug is dry. Allow a dry spell in between watering and DO NO overwater. Fertilize once a week and soon your happyPlant will surprise you with a beautiful bloom!

Fertilize orchids with a liquid fertilizer and Sheep's manure (Yes!). Sheep's manure comes in a small black pellet-like form where they are placed around the roots of the orchids. These will provide the nutrients needed for the orchids to bloom.

It is exciting to see how these little fluffy Marimos are doing with their new owners! Contrary to beliefs that Marimos are slimy algae, they are actually more "furry" to the touch! It is good to take your Marimo out of the jug and give it a little wash! It is fun! Slowly and gently pinch your Marimo out of the jug and wash it under running water. Gently squeeze it to expel any dirt trapped inside. Soon your Marimo will feel even more refreshed! Enjoy! :)

We are also introducing Marimore, only available in Vivocity. Marimore is a mini water ECO-system where 2 Red Crystal Shrimps Reside with a Marimo... in a jug! Marimore will provide endless hours of fun and joy as you watch the shrimps graze on the surface of Marimo. So come down and have a closer look!

Marimo

Marimos are a natural form of water algae plants that grow in the shape of a ball. They are found only in a few places, like lakes in Hokkaido, Japan. Often sold as novelties in Hokkaido, they are given to loved ones or friends to bring good luck and love.

Now, you can own this fluffy little plant (at about 5cm in diameter) right here in Singapore! Keep your Marimo in a cool area that has indoor or some natural light. Do not let your plant sit in direct sun. A weekly change of water will keep your Marimo happy. Momo Marimo!

"Kuuki" means "air" in Japanese and the name of this plant is a play of the word. Often known as an air plant (Tillandsia), Kuukimo is one of the few plants that do not require soil or any medium to grow. It still does need water (as with every happyPlant). Kuukimo sits prettily on top of a little glass plate filled with your favorite combination of colors (Red, green, blue, yellow, orange, white)

Mist your Kuukimo( on the leaves) twice to thrice weekly. This amazing plant absorbs moisture through it's leaves. And with proper love and care, it will bloom flowers for you!
